Dec 01

Timeline

In case you were keeping track, this is how it went down.

January 31: Bar application turned in.

End of March: Letter of Terror from IBABY telling me that ex-boss royally screwed up the dates I worked for him.

May: Letter of Terror from IBABY telling me that EIGHT of my references haven’t filled out the form yet after 2 attempts from IBABY. (Note: one reference immediately informed me that yes, he had in fact done it two months earlier online, and that the two referenced attempts had both arrived in the mail that week. On the same day. That week being the week I received the Letter of Terror.)

End of June: Certified for Character & Fitness. This is because I’m a goody-goody.

Mid-July: Received Seat Voucher for the IL Bar Exam

July 28: Bar Exam, Day 1. IL Essays, MPT, Multistate Essays.

July 29: Bar Exam, Day 2. MBE.

October 1: Results sent. Passed.

November 5: Swearing In.

November 6: Registration Materials Received from ARDC.

November 6: Registered Online with ARDC.

Thanksgiving Week: ARDC Card Received.

First Week of December: Take ARDC Card to Cook County Circuit Court and get Cook County Attorney Number.

First Week of December: Begin Filling In Application to US District Court for N.D. Ill. And yes, that’s proper bluebook.

I’ll keep you posted on the rest. But for those of you who are just beginning this process, be patient.
